A TRACTOR thought to be stolen attempted to pull a cash machine of the wall of a Tynedale supermarket in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
Shortly before 4.50am today, an alarm was activated at the Co-op store on Ratcliffe Road, Haydon Bridge.
"A number of calls have followed from members of the public reporting a tractor attempting to pull the ATM from the wall", said a Northumbria Police spokeswoman.
"The suspects have made off leaving a tractor, believed to be stolen, at the scene after being unsuccessful in their attempt."
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 and quoting reference NP-20211014-0103
A police helicopter is at the scene.
