A MAN has been fined after admitting stalking a woman.
Simon Nicholson (36) pleaded guilty to stalking without fear, alarm or distress at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Thursday (October 7).
The court heard between December 24 2020 and May 7 2021 at Prudhoe, Nicholson pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of a woman and which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her.
Nicholson attended the woman's address uninvited, made repeated unwanted contact by WhatsApp and telephone, and drove past places he believed her to be.
Nicholson, of Stanley Crescent, Prudhoe, was fined £320 and given a community order with a rehabilitation requirement.
He was also handed a restraining order and must pay court costs of £85 and a £95 victim surcharge.
