THE new section of the A69 at the Bridge End junction is due to open to traffic tomorrow morning (Thursday).
National Highways will work through the night to get one lane of the new carriageway open.
The whole scheme is due to complete this autumn.
Project manager, Alek James, said: “Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we’ll be putting traffic on one lane in each direction before 6am although that time is subject to change.
"It’s going to be great to see vehicles using the new section of road and we advise people to take their time as they get used to the new layout.”
Work will then continue on the slip roads and verges to enable both lanes to be opened in each direction.
