A PUB landlord wants to get the village's leek show back up and running.

Neil Welton and his partner Dionne Hunter took over the Anglers Arms in Kielder earlier this year, and Neil said he wants to reinstate the event as an annual event after not taking place last year.

They held this year's event at the pub on on Saturday, September 11.

And it was Neil who won best leeks.

"I wasn't expecting to win!" he said.

There were also competitions for the best cakes, flowers, and plant pots, with Saffy Ballantine, Ian Findlay and Julie Findlay being the respective winners.

There were raffles and prizes on the day, and the leek club raised £330.

Neil said they also had great support from Kielder Primary School, with pupils taking part in drawing and colouring competitions.
