Hexham’s MP has hosted a fast-growing, innovative North-East-based procurement services firm in Parliament.

MP Guy Opperman met with Adam Jacobs and Kieran Sullivan, founder, and chief development officer of Bloom, which specialises in helping SMEs and social enterprises access public procurement opportunities.

Bloom provides a platform and associated support services that public sector buyers use to run compliant procurement. It is a specialist partner that helps connect buyers across the public sector with a broader, more specialist range of suppliers for a wide range of professional services.

Partners include local authorities to NHS trusts, schools, and education providers.

In the Hexham Constituency, over £400,000 has been delivered across contracts with 15 suppliers.

“It was great to hear how Bloom has supported hundreds of small businesses across Tynedale and Ponteland”, said Guy Opperman MP. “Helping them secure contracts with a range of public sector buyers.

“We discussed the opportunities for further growth, jobs, and local investment as we recover from the pandemic, and how the Government can help deliver value for public money and open up access to public procurement .”
