A MOTORIST has been banned from the roads after admitting driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

Rebecca Pattinson (29), of Beech Grove, Prudhoe, appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Monday (September 20), where she pleaded guilty to drink driving on Beech Grove on July 24 this year.

She had 96 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath whilst behind the wheel of a Ford Transit. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Pattinson also pleaded guilty to driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without third party insurance on the same date and street.

Pattinson was disqualified from driving for two years, however this will be reduced by 24 weeks if she completes a drink driver’s rehabilitation course.

She was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
