CONSTRUCTION work on the remaining homes at a new housing development is due to completed late 2022.

Bellway North East began welcoming buyers to their new homes at Abbey Heights this summer.

The housing development forms part of the Lower Callerton neighbourhood to the west of Newcastle.

The company is building a total of 124 new homes at Abbey Heights. It has already sold 41 of the 98 private homes, with 26 completed properties now occupied by their new owners.

Sales director of Bellway North East, Emma Chesterton, said: “Work is progressing well at Abbey Heights and we can now see a flourishing residential neighbourhood beginning to take shape.

“With the first buyers now settled in their new surroundings, construction work is continuing on the remaining homes at the development.

“The feedback we have received from buyers to the completed properties – including our two showhomes – has been extremely positive and this response has been reflected by the fact that almost half of the private houses have already been sold.”

The development includes 26 affordable properties to be occupied through shared ownership or affordable rent.

The wider Lower Callerton neighbourhood will comprise around 3,000 new homes when all work is completed. Bellway has begun construction work within the wider scheme, known as The View at Abbey Heights, which will provide a further 74 homes.
