SINCE restrictions have been lifted and we can resume some normality, we asked readers where the best place was to go to get a nice slice of cake with your cuppa.
There were plenty of responses, with readers all having their own favourite retreats.
Here are a few places that readers recommended:

Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B, Bellingham
This bed and breakfast is a family business in the heart of Bellingham.
It has a fully licensed cafe and six bedrooms, of which three feature hot tubs and bathroom TVs.
Several of our readers recommended a visit here including Kate Riddle, who said: “Amazing food, lovely staff and lots of choices.”
Sonia Guy Barrass agreed with her, adding: “They have the best home made cakes – so much to choose from.”
And Caroline McEwen added: “It is a lovely cafe in Bellingham.”

The Queen’s Arms at Acomb
Located in Acomb, The Queens Arms Hotel provides a bar and free WiFi for their guests, who can enjoy darts on site, or cycling in the surroundings.
And to top it all off, the pub makes the ‘best brew in town’ according to Kylie Blackburn.

Caffè Ginevra Espresso Bar, Prudhoe
The Italian coffee bar specialising in espresso based coffees, local ice cream, Italian food and wines was another popular choice.
Laura Greene said: “It is my favourite place.” And Amy Finn agreed, adding: “Definitely”.

Corner Cafe, Prudhoe
The cafe which is set on Front Street, in Prudhoe is another to make the list, coming highly recommended by Adrian Porter.

Capheaton Tea Room and Village Hall
The tea rooms are open at the weekend only from 10am to 3pm with home produce.
It was recommended as a favourite of Suzanne Jackson, her go-to place on a Saturday and Sunday.
