A HISTORY group is to hold an exhibition.
Allen Valleys local history group will host Hiding in Plain Sight – an exhibition of photographs by Walter Collier and Thomas Howson Dickson.
The event will run on August 28 and 29 from 10.30-4.30pm at Allendale Village Hall.
In 2008, residents of Allendale were given a box of glass plates which were later scanned and preserved.
When the scans returned from the Woodhorn Museum, it was realised that blowing them up on a screen, details almost invisible could be seen.
Copies will be available for sale at the event, which will also see a talk on Saturday by celebrated local historian Stan Owen, who is familiar with the photographs of W Collier and TH Dickson, having used them in his books and in the Bellingham Heritage Centre.
