One of the country's highest drive-in movies is set to entertain later this month.

Tickets are now on sale for Alston Moor's first drive-in movie.

Alston Gala is screening the smash-hit family musical 'The Greatest Showman' on Sunday, August 29.

Starring Hugh Jackman as P T Barnum, the film features catchy musical numbers, exotic performers and daring acrobatic feats.

This is a chance to enjoy the film like never before, from the comfort of your own car, complete with bluetooth technology and it's socially distanced.

Alston Gala Chair, Raymond Miller said: "This is the first time we've tried outdoor cinema and people really seem to like the idea.

"We've chosen the bank holiday weekend so all the family can enjoy the evening.

"If the event is a success, we hope to do it again next year."

The film begins at sunset, around 8.30pm and is presented on a large 8m x 4m screen. Gates open at 7pm with plenty of time to park and stock up on the refreshments available to buy. This is a licensed event.

Tickets are priced at £15 per car or if you prefer to arrive on foot, it's £5 per person (don't forget your chairs and blanket).

Tickets are available by sending a message on Facebook to Raymond Miller or emailing him at raymondmiller791@gmail.com. Call Raymond on 07761 187938, or Sarah on 07743 937730.

Cars are parked on a 'first come, first parked' basis and larger vehicles will be parked further back to allow a better view of the screen for others. Tickets are limited.

'The Greatest Showman' is presented by Alston Gala, in partnership with Alston Moor Film. Supported by Alston Moor Parish Council, Cumbria County Council and Alston Moor Partnership. All equipment supplied by Sky Light Mobile Outdoor Cinema.
