ORGANISERS behind the North-East’s new super club have confirmed a string of new dates and late summer shows which will see some of the world's most celebrated DJs perform in the region.

The directors behind The Lofts are Rob Seaman and John Dance, of Vertem Asset Management, both of Hexham, and Marty Smith, who has over 30 years experience in the music industry and key local knowledge of the region's nightlife scene.

After the 1,500 capacity venue's launch event on Friday, August 27– featuring Pete Tong and Horse Meat Disco – The Lofts will welcome Danny Howard (August 28), Louie Vega with Eli Escobar (September 3), Todd Terry and Melon Bomb (September 11), Mark Knight (September 10), SKREAM (September 17) and Franky Wah (September 24).

Based in Newcastle - on the site of the old Tiger Tiger and Eden venue at The Gate - the new super club has three separate rooms including a ground breaking sound system from L-Acoustic and a state-of-the-art, fully immersive light and visual show.

Taking place on Saturday, August 28, the venue will present an electric night of house with Danny Howard, DJ Spen, Frankie Foncett, Mighty Mouse and Ricky Morrison.

Danny said: “They say the further north you go, the better the party, and Newcastle is certainly proof of that! It’s always an incredible vibe whenever I’ve played in the city before and I have a year’s worth of energy saved up for this, so see you on August bank holiday for a large one….!”

Ahead of his appearance, Franky Wah said: “I’m absolutely buzzin’ to announce I’m coming to play at the brand new superclub – The Lofts. I’ve been dying to play Newcastle and can’t wait to party with you all!”

BBC Radio 1 legend Pete Tong and Horse Meat Disco will open the venue on Friday 27 with support from Charlie Hedges, Mighty Mouse and Natasha Kitty Katt. Local resident DJs John Dance, Jonny Burn and Kev Cannon will be on support duties all weekend, as previously announced.

Tong said: "I’m very excited to be a part of launching Newcastle’s new superclub. I have really missed playing in front of a live crowd and can’t wait to kick off with The Lofts."
