NEW data shows the difference between the widest asking pice and the sold house price in Barrow

Homeowners in Barrow have been reducing their asking prices by an average of -£4,497 (-2.86%) over the last 12 months.

Sellers in the LA13 postcode reduced their asking price by an average of -£5,311 (-2.86%) to secure a sale.

They tracked 228 property transactions between August 2020 and August 2021. The date collected monitors the entire house sale process from the initial listening, viewings, negotiation, offers, agreement through to the survey process, conveyancing, exchange and finally completion of the process.

The biggest price discounts were seen in LA13 postcode, Across the region 71 house sellers were knocking off an average of -£5,311 (-2.86%) from the initial asking price in the 12 months to August 2021.

Over the same period, the lowest hits on price were seen in LA16, where 6 home sellers reduced their properties by an average of -£3,491 (-0.92%) to get the sale going.

There is also a wider evidence of surveyors down valuing properties that are misaligned with the realities.
