ONE of the Tyne Valley’s most popular visitor attractions is a finalist for a prestigious award.

Brocksbushes, near Corbridge, is in the ‘PYO of the Year’ category of the Farm Retail Awards.

A spokesperson for the company said: “As the only pick your own farm in Northumberland, we are very proud to be flying the flag for the North-East.

“Our staff work very hard all year round to look after the crops, as well as providing great customer service to our visitors when the fruit season is here, so to make the final is an amazing recognition for them.”

The winner is decided by a panel of experts and will include feedback from a mystery shopping visit due to take place this summer.

Chairman of the Farm Retail Association Rob Copley added: “The quality of the entrants is extremely high, and this will be a tough category to judge. This shows the calibre of our PYO businesses in the UK and each finalist should be very proud.

“We look forward to seeing entrants from all the categories now and celebrating the very best in the business at our awards ceremony next March. Good luck to all our finalists!”

Other finalists for the PYO category have been shortlisted from Worcestershire, Kent and Swindon and will go through to the ceremony early next year.

The Brocksbushes spokesperson added: “We have a while to wait for the results, but we are over the moon to be shortlisted.”

Good luck!
