A FURTHER 112 coronavirus cases have been recorded in Northumberland on Wednesday as case numbers continue to slowly fall. This number is likely to change as positive tests are returned.
On Tuesday, four further deaths were recorded.
This takes the total number of deaths to 706 and cases to 27,259.
814 positive cases were identified in the week ending August 2 at a rate of 254.2 per 100,000 population, according to gov.uk statistics.
This is down from 1,095 in the previous week, a rate of 341.9.
Five deaths were recorded in total across the week, up from two the week before.
The figures include anyone who died within 28 days of a positive test result for Covid-19, and whose usual residence was in Northumberland.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
The figures also show that more than three-quarters of people in Northumberland have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.
Regionally, 214,223 people had received both jabs by Tuesday, August 3 – 78.3% of those aged 18 and over, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service database.
Across England, 72.7% of people aged 18 and above had received a second dose of the jab.
Unlike at local level, the national rate was calculated using mid-2020 population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
