WE HAVE had some rubbish weather over the last few days after the heatwave produced some sweltering temperatures, with many areas enduring days of persistent rain.

On Wednesday, Northumberland Fire and Rescue issued the following warning: "Got some heavy rain on the way folks. If you're driving - lights on, keep your distance and take your time. Drive to the conditions."

Unfortunately, that is set to continue over the weekend.

Here's what you need to know.

Friday 30

The rest of Friday is set to be drab, with rain until 8.00pm in both Hexham and Prudhoe.  There might be a slight gap in Prudhoe at 3.00pm and 4.00pm, so that's when to do your errands today.

Hexham Courant:

Saturday 31

The rain will stop on Friday evening and this will last until Saturday morning, which is great if you're a badger but less so for the diurnal species of the world.  Unfortunately, it will resume at 6.00am for a few hours - until 8.00am in Hexham and 11.00am in Prudhoe.

We are looking at just a couple of showers in a mostly dry afternoon before the downpour resumes at around 8.00pm.

Hexham Courant:

Sunday 1

Sunday is when the weather starts to look up again.  While forecasts - especially rain forecasts - are prone to change more than two days in advance, it's currently forecasted to be dry all day in both Hexham and Prudhoe.  It won't be sunbathing weather, as mostly cloud is predicted and temperatures of 14-16 celcius.
