A NORTH Tyne school has raised more than £1,000 for children with cancer.

Bellingham Primary School pupils and staff took part in the Children's Cancer Run.

The event is usually held at Newcastle Racecourse, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, organisers asked if schools could host the fun run themselves.

Pupils completed one, three, or five miles and were then presented with a certificate, sticker and a Greggs voucher.

The school have raised over £1,000 through their dedicated fundraising page.

All donations go to Children's Cancer North, who help children from across the region who are diagnosed with cancer.

Wendy Goddard, Bellingham Primary School headteacher, said: "Everyone should be very proud of themselves."
