A school in the region has been helping their students complete a 'fiver challenge' as they became business people.
Students from Shaftoe Trust Wise Academy in Haydon Bridge all took turns running their own businesses - each with a budget of £5 - over the course of four weeks to see how much profit they could generate during the process.
Designed to help the children work together to invest their money and to help learn about budgeting and making a profit, the scheme saw a number of projects take place.
“I've always been interested in the idea of enterprise for children and I was excited to find the 'Fiver challenge' as I knew it was something our children would enjoy," said headteacher Julie Phazey.
"The children have been fantastic from start to finish and are already thinking about what businesses they will run next year.
"We think Alan Sugar should watch out as we're now a bunch of budding entrepreneurs!”
