A popular television star from the region has revealed details about his latest programme.

Robson Green, who originates from Hexham, has teamed up with fellow actor James Murray and the pair have filmed a new fly fishing series that takes place in Iceland.

Robson and Jim’s Icelandic Fly Fishing Adventure is a three part series on ITV4 which sees the duo tell stories and discuss their past while also adding elements of humour along the way.

The pair met while working on set together four years ago and bonded over their love of fly fishing, with them going on to make the programme as a result.

“I needed something in life that made sense and, for me, fishing makes sense," said Robson.

“Early on in my acting career I was reckless. It was all about Robson.

"But I’ve learnt so much from fishing and have an inner peace now that had been missing.”

The show is also set to show why fly fishing is so important to both men and how the sport has helped the two actors in recent years.

The first show aired on Tuesday evening (July 13), with the remaining two set to follow over the next fortnight (July 20 and 27).

Robson is also set to star in the sixth series of popular ITV drama Grantchester later this summer when it premiers in August.
