A MOTORBIKE rider and a passenger who was riding in a side car have been seriously injured after a crash.
At about 3.35pm today (Friday), Northumbria Police received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a car at Simonburn.
Emergency services attended the scene and found the motorbike driver, and a passenger who was riding in a side car, had sustained serious injuries.
The occupants of the car were not seriously injured.
A police spokesman confirmed the road remains closed while emergency services respond to the incident.
