Firefighters are still at the scene of a major fire which ripped through a paper mill in Hexham yesterday.
Seven fire engines were called to Fourstones paper mill after the blaze broke out at 1.45pm yesterday.
Crews from Northumberland Fire and Rescue were assisted by colleagues from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue as firefighters battled to bring the blaze under control.
A local farmer also assisted by helping to safely remove burnt bales of paper with his tractor.
Police closed nearby roads and residents were asked to avoid the area.
This morning a single fire engine remains at the scene. Traffic diversions remain in place.
