One of Britain’s most loved musicians has announced his farewell tour – and he’ll be stopping off nearby!
Elton John’s gift is his song and he’ll be wrapping it and delivering it to the people of the North East for one final time with a performance at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on June 19, 2022 as part of the Yellow Brick Road Farewell Tour.
After confirming dates earlier today, Sir Elton said: “I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way performing at my very best with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career.
“I can’t wait to see you all on the road for one last time. This has been an incredible tour so far, through the most amazing highs and I look forward to making more wonderful memories with you at these final shows.”
As part of the UK leg of his farewell tour, Sir Elton will also play at Carrow Road in Norwich, Anfield in Liverpool, Ashton Gate in Bristol, and Liberty Stadium in Swansea.
The grand finale will take place at Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium on November 20, 2022.
