Community groups, charities and social enterprises across the county are being asked to apply for a share of a funding pot to help go towards both digital equipment and training.

Northumberland County Council have requested local charity Northumberland CVA to look after and manage a fund of £63,000 that is part of the North of Tyne COVID Capacity Fund.

The idea around the fund being given out to local organisations in the area is to ensure the voluntary sector in the county is able to cope with the digital skills gap for both work and life.

However, the deadline for which to apply for part of this fund for local organisations is fast approaching and as a result requests are being asked to be submitted as soon as possible.

“We need groups to apply for this funding no later than 9am on Friday 9th July because one of the conditions is that all of their spending of the grant must be completed by 15th September 2021," said a Northumberland CVA’s funding development officer.

“That means we need to receive and assess applications and award the funds in double quick time to allow applicants enough time to spend the money before the deadline, and we can only do that if we get the applications in quickly.
