50 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Northumberland over the latest 24-hour period.

Figures released by Northumberland County Council show that a total of 17,839 cases have been confirmed in the region since the pandemic began last March.

This figure is up from the figure of 17,789 at the same time yesterday.

A total of nine wards in the county feature five or more cases of coronavirus, although no wards in our region currently feature.

The worse affected ward in Northumberland is currently Bothal, who have 14 positive cases having been confirmed in the last seven-day period.

Nobody has died in relation to Covid in Northumbria Healthcare hospitals in the latest 24-hour period, meaning the death toll stands at 731.

Anyone aged 25 and over is now eligible to book their first vaccination against Covid-19.
