Filming has begun on a new blockbuster film at a Northumberland Castle.
Dungeons and Dragons, which is based on a popular adventure board game of the same name, started on Monday June 7 at Alnwick Castle.
Alnwick Castle has long been a filming location for movies and TV shows in the region, with Harry Potter, Downtown Abbey, and Transformers: The Last Knight all having scenes shot in the castle and grounds.
The film, which is directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, will star Star Trek’s Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez from Avatar and legendary British actor Hugh Grant.
It is still early days in filming and Dungeons and Dragons is not expected to be released until 2023.
