Northumberland mountain rescue teams were called out to one of their ‘hotspots’ this weekend.
Due to the difficulty to access Crammel Linn near Gilsland, which straddles the border of Northumberland and Cumbria, Mountain Rescue vehicles were deployed from bases in West Denton and Pegswood just after 4pm on Friday afternoon.
However, on attending the casualty, the Great North Air Ambulance and Ambulance Service confirmed that the casualty was not as seriously injured as first thought and Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue were able to stand down.
