A TYNEDALE-BASED home care company has raised over £200 after its staff completed a charity walk.
Home Instead Tyne Valley, based in Hexham, led a 5k walk in aid of the Bring Joy Foundation as part of Dementia Action Week and has now raised £252.02.
Owner Heather Hughes said: “The weather was dry and cool for walking, the countryside was beautiful.
“We encountered on our 5k walk some local cyclists and other walkers. We also stopped for refreshments at the Boatside Inn.
“An 88-year-old lady and an eight-year-old little girl joined us, they managed the 5k walk really well. We also had other children, adults and two dogs, we had lots of laughter and banter.”
The business, which provides care for elderly people in their own home, is due to host another walk next month – this time for fun.
Anyone who would like to join can contact Heather on (01434) 693700.
