Top Gear trio Freddie Flintoff, Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris were spotted filming in our region last week.

The motoring show, which had also visited north Northumberland locations such as Bamburgh Beach and Seahouses earlier in the week, was spotted filming for the series in the Coquet Valley on Thursday.

The images, which were taken near Shilmoor, show the three presenters of the popular programme towing three trailer pods up what is known to locals as Copper Snout Hill before they then reportedly camped at the location on Thursday evening.

Several pieces of filming for recent series’ of Top Gear have taken place in the UK due to the travel restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The news of the programme being spotted filming in Northumberland follows our story last week that one of its presenters – Chris Harris – will return to the region in November as he competes on the Roger Albert Clark Rally.
