We’ve rounded up the latest court cases concerning the Tyne Valley heard at court this week.

Hexham

A man accused of racially aggravated harassment was up in the dock at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Ronald Bryant (53) of Chirdon Crescent, was due to stand trial for racially or religiously aggravated harassment, and causing alarm or distress using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

Bryant denied the charges and will stand trial at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on May 26.

Hexham

A woman accused of assault and theft appeared at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on Friday afternoon.

Amanda Longstaff (37) of St John’s Road, Hexham, was accused of two counts of theft and one of common assault. She denied all charges.

Longstaff’s trial has been adjourned until September 10. Until then, she has been released on conditional bail.

Haydon Bridge

A man appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court accused of three counts of assault.

Jordan Armstrong (19) of Tyne View Close in Haydon Bridge was accused of racially or religiously aggravated common assault, two counts of assault by beating, and sending a communication conveying false information. Armstrong denied all charges.

The trial was adjourned until May 21. Until then, Armstrong has been released on conditional bail.
