New cases of Coronavirus in Northumberland have been confirmed in the last 24-hour period. According to figures from the UK Government, there have now been 17,617 positive cases in the region since last March.
Figures from Public Health England show that there have been no further deaths recorded in the last 24-hour period in Northumbria NHS Trust hospitals, meaning that the total remains at 730 since March 2020.
Yesterday, it was announced that cases of the Indian variant of Covid-19 had been detected in the region but numbers are lower than anywhere else in England.
