With pubs and restaurants having recently reopened outdoors following the easing of coronavirus restrictions, we asked our social media followers to recommend locations in the region where to head for Sunday dinner.

Whether its for a warn and friendly atmosphere, the quality of the food served or the friendliness of the staff, our followers suggested several locations well worth a visit for your next meal out.

  • Manor House Haltwhistle

The Manor House was a name that kept reappearing when we asked for your recommendations on Facebook, and many of our followers singed out the business for a number of reasons why they were the go to place for a Sunday meal.

Gary Paterson praised the business on Main Street in the town for their generous portion sizes and friendly staff, while Allison Burns said the both the food and surrounding were lovely.

Another Facebook follower, Craig Telford, said the Manor House had fresh home cooked food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere, while Phillip Robinson said the food is superb, and with great service.

Phillip also said the staff are very helpful and the location was family friendly.

  • The Crown Inn, Humshaugh

Another popular recommendation was The Crown Inn at Humshaugh.

Paul Stafford said the location was simply amazing, while Carrie Turner added that the food was amazing also.

The Crown Inn, a traditional country pub located in the village, was also recommended to be given a visit by people including Arty Younger, Brent Midgley and Hollie Smith to be the place to go for your Sunday dinner.

Aime Mcavoy, Emily Sarah McGlasson and Jimmy Loud also said the Humshaugh business was their go to choice.

  • Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B, Bellingham

More of our followers chose the family ran Fountain Cottage Cafe and B&B in Bellingham as their place to go for their Sunday roast.

Kate Riddle said the business offered amazing food and singled out the locally sourced and homemade items they offer customers.

Janice Fairlamb also recommended the North Tyne location for their locally sourced items, and also praised them for having delivery available.

  • The Black Bull, Haltwhistle

Another location in Haltwhistle, The Black Bull was a popular recommendation by people on the Hexham Courant Facebook page with several people saying it was the best place to go.

Followers on our page including Paula Lowery, Richard Gallagher and Donna Maxwell all said The Black Bull was the place to go for their Sunday lunch.
