A new campaign has been launched in Northumberland to champion tourism sector ingenuity – with some of the area’s top attractions involved.

Visit Northumberland’s ‘Good job, Northumberland’ campaign highlights businesses which have developed and revitalised their operation during the Covid pandemic, including Kielder Observatory and Hesleyside Huts. The campaign aims to act as a catalyst to inspire others as the area’s tourism sector reawakens.

It revolves around three films which showcase stories of businesses in Northumberland who have ‘pivoted and thrived’ during the pandemic - the third being Bamburgh Castle.

Neil Carney, Head of Destination Strategy at Visit Northumberland, said: “Through the eyes of these businesses we see in great detail – and with great honesty – the amazing stories that underpin the spirit of our visitor economy. By championing real, unpolished stories from the people behind the Northumberland tourism businesses who have managed to adapt during the pandemic, we can offer hope, inspiration and support to those other local businesses in the region.”
