A town council in the region have written to its local football club over concerns of cars parking on a match day.
Haltwhistle Town Council has written to Northern Alliance side Haltwhistle Jubilee regarding the number of vehicles that park outside The Burn, after complaints were made of a public right of way being blocked.
In a meeting earlier this week, members of the council explained that several drivers, including both the local district nurse and also a supermarket delivery driver, couldn’t drive along the road when the match was taking place due to the number of cars parked.
It was also noted that although the emergency services weren’t needed at the time, they would have been unable to travel along the road also had they been required to do so.
It was agreed that the council would write a letter to the club regarding the matter.
