A Tynedale organisation is hosting an event today to look at ways of changing the world for the better.

Tynedale Transformed’s ‘Pick of the Tops’ event comes soon after local elections and will give its supporters a chance to look back at issues raised during the last six months.

The organisation’s monthly “Second Sunday” online event will include debates and talks on the health service, climate change, democracy, community action, rural life, local journalism, and a history tour of Hexham.

John Hill, Organiser of ‘Pick of the Tops’, said: “Over the past extraordinary six months we’ve looked at how things are, we’ve re-imagined the future, and we’ve discussed what needs to be done.

“We’ve covered a wide range of subjects and we’ve had some excellent speakers and contributors from right across our communities.

“So, this month we’re going to take a short pause to reflect on all of these important issues, before we move on to tackle others.”

In April 2021, Tynedale Transformed hosted an event with Chris Jackson, a former presenter for BBC’s Inside Out programme, debating the media and its role in preserving democracy.
