A BRAND new tableware hire business has been launched by a Hexham woman.

Sue Bell started Violet’s Quality Tableware Hire in March this year and she is hoping to go from strength to strength.

“My partner has a catering business, so the tableware hire went hand in hand,” Sue said.

Her partner’s catering company is WMH Quality Catering, which produces hog roast and barbecue food.

Sue said she started the business to complement WMH Quality Catering, but she can also provide fine bone china, cutlery, glasses and tablecloths for weddings and parties in hotels, village halls and marquees.

They also have a range of tableware available to hire for more informal outdoor events and barbecues.

Violet’s Quality Tableware Hire offer a delivery/collection service, and also will wash up for you.

The delivery/collection service is free within five miles of Newbrough, and outside of this they charge 40p per mile.

And she is hoping that customers will appreciate the environmental pros of the business.

Sue said: “My main selling point is the environment aspect because you can hire from me something that is very beautiful and practical, and it can be used again.”

Sue added it is better than buying plastic tableware and “bundling them up into a bag and putting them into landfill.”

Sue said whilst she believes people are still cautious to book parties currently, she is “optimistic” that business will pick up as more people can get together and plan events.
