With hospitality venues now allowed to serve people outdoors, many people across the Tyne Valley have enjoyed sitting outside their favourite café, catching up with friends and family.
We asked Hexham Courant readers on Facebook to tell us their favourite cafés with outdoor seating areas.
CAFFE GINEVRA, PRUDHOE
John Patmore commented: “Easy this one. Caffe Ginevra Espresso Bars are amazing. Visit either one in Prudhoe and you will receive amazing service with lovely smiles, you will get the best coffee you have ever tried and their homemade cakes and ice cream take their shops to another level.”
Lynn Liss and Laura Greene also said Caffe Ginevra was their favou-rite, with Laura commenting: “It has a lovely outdoor seating area which is a real sun trap. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the coffee is the best around. Also they make lush sandwiches and pizzas and their home made brownies are to die for!”
SMALL WORLD CAFE, HEXHAM
Julie Famelton commented: “Excellent food and always a smile!”
Gemma Edwards also recommended the café.
ERRINGTON COFFEE HOUSE, CORBRIDGE
Tracey Davey Was Horsford recommended Errington Coffee House, commenting: “Soup to die for, fab staff, great welcome, gorgeous bakes”.
FOUNTAIN COTTAGE CAFE AND B&B, BELLINGHAM
Sonia Guy Barrass said the café “is great, the food is all made on site, the Sunday dinners are great and the takeaway service has been a godsend during this pandemic, the staff have worked very hard to keep Bellingham and surrounding areas supplied with great food, and on the hot days with the kids, the ice-cream are a real treat.”
Caroline McEwen also recommended the café.
BUNTERS COFFEE SHOP, HEXHAM
Patricia Barnes said the coffee shop has a “lovely big sun trap patio away from main roads.”
Heather Crawford added that they have “lovely friendly service and great food”, and recommended the cakes and lemon meringue pie.
BEANOS SANDWICH FAYRE, HALTWHISTLE
Ruth Boyd commented: “Fantastic food and drinks to enjoy, and a great location to watch the world go by”.
Other recommendations included the Matfen Shop and Café, Jills Catering in Catton and The Riverside Kitchen in Chollerford.
