A TOUR company is offering day trips to see the filming locations of a well-known and much-loved ITV drama – with more than 15 places to see.

Brit Movie Tours is running a series of full day ‘Vera’ tours across Northumberland, showcasing some of the stunning locations to have featured in the series.

The eight-hour tours promise to “delve” fans into DCI Vera Stanhope’s world of murder and mystery by visiting locations like Amble, Alnmouth and Bamburgh. Fans will also visit parts of historic Hadrian’s Wall and the home of DCI Stanhope, played by actress Brenda Blethyn, on Lindisfarne Island.

Led by a guide, who is well-versed in the hit series, the tours will start in Newcastle city centre before being led via coach to each scene. At each location, fans will get the chance to get on and off the coach and to take photos.

The first tour is set to take place at 10am on Sunday, June 27, with three further dates in 2022.

Tickets begin at £50 for children and £60 for those over the age of 16, while there are concessions for group bookings.

Brit Movie Tours is also running a series of tours of filming locations in Newcastle city centre with dates throughout June, July, August and October.

The cast of the popular drama are welcome visitors to the

Tyne Valley and most recently, were spotted filming scenes for the 11th series in Corbridge

over the April Bank Holiday weekend.

In 2015, the Vera cast visited Barrasford and in 2016, filming took place in Blanchland and Ridsdale, with landlady of the Gun Inn famously closing the pub to host the cast.

In 2017, Vera returned to the county, this time filming in the Newbrough area and in 2018 the detective was back in Blanchland.
