A local estate agent has expanded its reach with a move to a new town centre location.

Red Hot Sales and Lettings has relocated to larger premises, formerly a game and later a charity shop, on Prudhoe Front Street, having outgrown its space in the Spetchells Centre.

The move follows a period of continued growth for the company which has had a presence in the town for the past eight years.

“I’m really delighted with our new high street location,” said Prudhoe branch manager Melanie Fairness. “It gives us the space and visibility that we need as we’ve grown quite considerably over the past few years.

“With the easing of Covid restrictions, we’re looking forward to more people popping in – especially as we’re so easy to find.”

Red Hot Sales and Lettings was established in 2007 as a fresh and alternative approach to the traditional high street method of estate agency with a real emphasis on technology.

Melanie, who has worked her way up the company in her six-year stay, said that customer service was important. She added: “A house is your biggest asset if you’re going to sell it and it’s your biggest purchase if you’re buying. I pride myself on our after sales, it’s all about customer service for us.”

The agency now has three local branches – Hexham, Prudhoe and Alston - and was acquired by The Castledene Group in 2019.

The local housing market has been buoyant – despite strict covid procedures and stop-start trading.
