THE UK new car market has recorded its first growth since August says the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders .
Last week it said 29,280 more units were registered in March compared to the same month last year, when the lockdowns began.
Comparing the 2010 to 2019 average of 450,189 for March however, new car registrations were down 36.9 per cent with only 283,964 units registered.
From January to March this year 58,032 fewer cars were registered compared to the same period last year, equating to £1.8 billion in turnover.
