A Northumberland councillor has offered her support for local businesses ahead of non-essential shops opening on Monday.
Cath Homer, Northumberland County Councillor for Hexham East, reminded the public that while they have had little choice but to change their shopping habits during the pandemic, local businesses will need their support when they open again on Monday.
Cath said: “Many businesses have gone to quite unbelievable lengths to keep us supplied with essential goods and food over the last twelve months.
"It’s time to support them now and put them back – use them or lose them. We have some fabulous businesses. I’d encourage everyone to shop locally as much as they can.”
Non essential retail will open on Monday 12 April, as part of Stage 2 of the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
