Northumbria Police have warned residents in the Tynedale area to be careful when considering buying fish from door to door sellers after reports of a suspicious vehicle today (April 8).
The police force has issued a statement notifying residents in the Gilsland, Haltwhistle and Bardon Mill areas after three males driving a white Vauxhall Caddy van had been spotted attempting to sell fish at 12:20pm.
“Please always be careful around buying fish from door to door sellers,” said the police.
“Vehicles should have sufficient refrigeration, have a price list available and products should be clearly labelled with weight, type, use by date and name of the supplier.”
