A TEENAGER has been banned from the roads for drug driving.

Cameron McDermott (19), of Bardon Mill, pleaded guilty at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court on April 7 to the charge.

The court heard McDermott had traces of cocaine in his bloodstream when he was behind the wheel at Steel Rigg on August 3 last year.

He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £250.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
