A ROAD safety scheme has been announced after funding was approved for the project.
Safety measures will be introduced in the Highfield Lane area of Prudhoe as part of an investment into schools in the county.
Tracy Gilmore, Prudhoe mayor and candidate for Prudhoe North in the upcoming county council elections, said: “Many residents and parents have asked for road safety measures to be introduced in the Highfield Lane area.
“I am delighted to say that funding has been agreed to progress this in the new financial year as part of a £600k countywide commitment to improve safety around Northumberland schools.”
She added: “The plans will now be drawn up and we will continue to keep everyone informed as always.”
