No one has died in relation to coronavirus for the third day running in Northumbria Healthcare hospitals.
The latest figures released by NHS England show that the death toll in the region remains at 722 since the pandemic began last March.
The number of new positive cases of Covid-19 also remains low, with the latest daily statistics released by the government showing only 13 new cases have been confirmed in Northumberland.
More promising signs can be seen when it comes to individual wards in our area, with no locations across the Tyne Valley featuring on Northumberland’s worse affected list.
In total, only three wards in the county have had five or more positive cases of coronavirus in the last seven-day period, with Seghill with Seaton Delaval currently the worse affected area with nine cases of the virus.
The only other wards to feature five or more positive cases are Lynemouth and Hirst who both have six cases currently.
