POLICE have now named the pensioner who, sadly, died in a road traffic collision in Seaton Sluice.
George McCall, of Seaton Sluice, died after his white Suzuki veered off the road, for reasons yet to be established, and collided with a wall.
Police and emergency services attended the scene and the 79-year-old was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but passed away.
The investigation remains ongoing and officers are asking for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
The crash happened at 8.30am on Saturday while the car had been travelling west on Fountain Head Bank towards The Avenue (A190).
