A PLANNING application to convert a former dairy shed into a house is set to be resubmitted.

An application for prior approval submitted to Northumberland County Council last August was rejected, but Steve Underwood, of Edgewell House Farm House, near Prudhoe, has submitted a prior notification application to the council to convert the barn into a dwelling.

The planned house lies within the grounds of Edgewell House Farm, and the site area is approximately 515m² and is accessed directly off the road serving Edgewell House Farm house and steading.

Mr Underwood owns the site, and quite a bit of adjoining land, including the farmhouse opposite the site.

The existing building is a redundant dairy/cow shed and is a single storey construction built with brickwork external walls and corrugated roof sheets. There is a large grassed area to the north and west of the building, and a field directly to the south.

Tony Carter, of Carter-Smith Planning Consultants, is working on Mr Underwood's behalf.
