AN OUTDOOR riding arena is planned for an existing grazing field on the Northumberland/Durham border.
Katherine Joyce has applied to Northumberland County Council to change the use of part of an existing grazing field at The Dairy, at Shotleyfield, by constructing an outdoor arena for personal use.
The project would see the excavation and construction of a 45m by 25m riding arena, with a surface of washed sand and fibre.
An arena drain and perimeter would be laid, and filled to ground level with clean chipping.
It is also proposed that a fence comprising three boards and three rails would be erected.
There would be no additional lighting forming part of development and the development would be for personal use only.
Vehicle access will be taken from the existing field access road.
Pedestrian/ equestrian access would be taken through a paddock gate.
Charlotte Newton, of Darlington firm Vickers & Barrass Chartered Surveyors, is the agent working on behalf of Mrs Joyce.
