More than 2m tenants in the UK have no home insurance, despite owns contents which amount to £25,000 on average.
The findings come from a poll by the Nationwide Building Society of more than 1,000 tenants reveals only 52 per cent 4.44m private renters have contents insurance.
This means that 2.13m households without cover.
