A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been fined more than £1,000 for carrying a lock knife in his car.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on March 15, Matthew Wanless, of Castle Road, Prudhoe, pleaded guilty to having the bladed article in his possession while driving on the A69 on October 12 last year.
He was fined £1,065 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £107 and court costs of £85.
Magistrates ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the knife.
Wanless also pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle without a MOT certificate during the same incident. No separate penalty was endorsed.
