A YOUNG female motorist has been banned from the roads after admitting drink driving.

At South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Monday, Charlotte Olivia Huntsman (22), of Tyneview Close, Haydon Bridge, pleaded guilty to driving with excessive alcohol.

On February 6 this year, Huntsman was driving on the A69 at Corbridge with 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

She also admitted driving without a relevant licence and driving without insurance.

Huntsman was banned from driving for 16 months and fined £161 for drink driving.

She was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.

There were no separate penalties for driving with no licence and no insurance.
