Police are appealing for witnesses after an alleged hit and run during school pick up.
After many children enjoyed their first day back at school yesterday for the first time since before Christmas, police received a report that a male pedestrian was hit by a reversing vehicle outside Prudhoe West Academy and that the car failed to stop.
Police did not attend the scene, but received a report later about the incident.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 8.50pm yesterday (Monday) we received a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a male pedestrian outside Prudhoe West Academy, West Road, that took place during school pick up.
“It was reported that the car had reversed into the male and failed to stop. No injuries have been reported.
“Enquires are on-going and anyone with any information, those involved or anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact us via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 1042 080321.”
